For 3 days, Hotel Bauen, holds the 2nd "Convencion Nacional de Tatuajes". We decided to stop by, and I took the occasion to take some tattoo shots. Here's one of many pictures I took. Interesting the observe the artist reproduce that drawing on the guy's back. I'm a huge fan of tattoos. This is another way to show art, I believe. It'd be interesting to know what you all think about tattoos in general: love it, dislike it, don't care... let me know :) Pendant 3 jours, l'hotel Bauen, presente la 2eme "Convencion Nacional de Tatuajes".

Ow! I've toyed with the idea of getting a tattoo for the last 18 years on and off, but I realize with myself my tastes change and evolve and eventually I would be bored with what I had chosen.
What I do not really understand are the cartoon tattoos?!

I think I like tattoos (some of them are amazing art work!) but personally more the small decent ones. If I would get one then it would not be a permanent tattoo (although I guess it's not a real tattoo then...) so I could change it from time to time...

I don't care for tattoos especially the large ones. A small descript tattoo which peeks out to catch your attention might be okay for someone out on the town. If one must tattoo then seriously consider the temporary ones.

Im not into tatoos,I dont think I can endure the pain. Here in Japan, yakuza (mafia) have tatoos. So its not advisable because people might get the wrong impression. People with tatoos are not allowed in the public bathes and hot springs too. Although there may be some places that caters to the yakuza. My mom has tatoo, her eyebrows!!

Hola Karine
I just got a plea from an BAexpat member about helping to save El Bar Britanico in San Telmo!
Apparently this historical bar is being ousted so it can be made into a "tourist" friendly environment $$$$.
I hope you don't mind me posting this info on your site in the comments box.
I have posted Claire's plea on how we can help go to:
www.tangoinhereyes.blogspot.com
Muchas gracias!!!!!

Tango in her eyes, same here, been wanting to have a tattoo but I like new things too so it seems too permanent a thing to me. I had henna though.

Not for me - but they are becoming more popular recently in Australia but so is the laser removal of them!

Thanks all for your comments. I can see that your opinions are diverse.

Bob-- I like piercing too. got one myself back in 96´in Germany. Gosh did not work out that well. Got infection some 3 weeks after :P

Arnaud -- l'addiction plus ou moins. ca doit dependre des gens. Moi j en ai un et depuis tjs je sais que j en veux en deuxieme. Apres quoi je pense arreter :)

Chris -- I knew it. I knew you would have some tattoos. Some ? a lot should I say ;) After that many tattoos I can imagine you don't wanna stop.

Nicola -- I understand the idea of changing from time to time. and in this case henna is just perfect. But for me the idea of tattoo is equal to permanent, in which case I can't go with henna. Or I could to see how the permanent could look like later ;)

midnitebara -- woahhh !! I can't believe it! In which case I´m forbidden to go to public bathes.

Lisi -- same comments than for Nicola. Henna so so but could be helpful to preview your permanent tattoo.. maybe ... hehehe

Michael -- tattoo removal!! aiiee no way!.. people need to make up their mind seriously when making a tattoo, as to avoid those kind of intervention in the future. I have mine and i have no intention to remove it :))!!

Denton -- thanks for sharing your point of view :)

Tango in her eyes- no prob. I don´t know about that bar in San Telmo, but if your posting here can help. Please feel free to add some more :)

It's a crusty old place Karine! Just try to get there and have a memory before it changes hands.
